Counselling in Cheam
I'm Claire Smith, a BACP accredited psychodynamic therapist (216379) based just down the road in Worcester Park. I see clients from Cheam, North Cheam, and the surrounding area.
Just around the corner
My practice at Manor Drive Medical Centre is barely a mile from Cheam Village. It's a five-minute drive or a short bus ride along the A24. If you're in North Cheam, it's even closer. Worcester Park and Cheam share a border, so for many people it's easier to get to than central Sutton.
There's parking near the practice, and Worcester Park station is a two-minute walk away if you prefer public transport.
A familiar neighbourhood
Cheam and Worcester Park are practically neighbours, and many of my clients live in the streets between the two. Whether you're near Cheam Park, along the Malden Road, or in the residential roads off the A24, the practice is close enough that fitting therapy into your week doesn't require much planning.
That matters, because one of the biggest barriers to therapy isn't deciding to start. It's keeping the momentum going. Having a therapist close to home makes it easier to show up consistently, which is when the real work happens.
How I can help
I work with adults who want to understand themselves better. Psychodynamic therapy explores the patterns behind how you feel and relate to others. Not to dwell on the past, but to help you make sense of what's happening now.
Whether you're dealing with anxiety, low mood, relationship difficulties, or something you can't quite name, therapy can help. Sessions are weekly, lasting 50 minutes.
