Counselling in Kingston upon Thames
I'm Claire Smith, a BACP accredited psychodynamic therapist (216379) based in nearby Worcester Park. I see clients from across Kingston and the surrounding area who are looking for therapy that goes beyond the surface.
Getting here from Kingston
My practice is at Manor Drive Medical Centre in Worcester Park, KT4 7LG. From Kingston, you can drive along the A240 through Malden. It's about fifteen minutes depending on traffic. By train, Kingston to Worcester Park takes around twelve minutes with one change at Raynes Park.
There's parking near the practice, and Worcester Park station is a two-minute walk from the door.
Why clients come from Kingston
Kingston is a busy town with plenty going on, and sometimes that's exactly why people prefer a quieter setting for therapy. Worcester Park offers a calmer environment. There's less chance of running into someone you know, and the practice itself feels low-key and unassuming.
Some of my Kingston clients work in the town centre and fit sessions around their day. Others live in Norbiton, Coombe, or Kingston Hill and find the drive straightforward. A few have specifically sought out psychodynamic therapy after trying other approaches and wanting something that goes deeper.
How I can help
I work with adults who want to understand themselves better, whether that means working through anxiety, depression, relationship patterns, or something harder to put into words. Psychodynamic therapy explores how past experiences shape your present, helping you make sense of recurring feelings and reactions.
Sessions are weekly, lasting 50 minutes, at Manor Drive Medical Centre. I offer both short-term and open-ended therapy depending on what you need.
