Counselling in Wimbledon
I'm Claire Smith, a BACP accredited psychodynamic therapist (216379) based in Worcester Park, a quick train ride from Wimbledon. I work with adults who want to go deeper than surface-level solutions.
A direct train from Wimbledon
My practice is at Manor Drive Medical Centre in Worcester Park, KT4 7LG. From Wimbledon, it's a direct train, about eleven minutes on the South Western Railway service towards Epsom. No changes, no fuss. Worcester Park station is a two-minute walk from the practice.
If you're driving, it's a straightforward route down the A24 through Morden, with parking available near the centre.
Why clients come from Wimbledon
Wimbledon has no shortage of therapists, but finding the right one is a personal thing. Some of my Wimbledon clients came to me because they were specifically looking for psychodynamic therapy and didn't find the right fit locally. Others liked the idea of somewhere quieter and less central, a calmer setting for a calmer kind of work.
The eleven-minute train journey can actually be part of the process. Some clients tell me they use the ride to gather their thoughts on the way there, and to decompress on the way back. It becomes a built-in transition between therapy and the rest of the day.
How I can help
Psychodynamic therapy helps you understand the patterns behind how you feel. Rather than focusing on managing symptoms, we explore where they come from: how your past experiences shape the way you relate to others and to yourself.
I work with adults dealing with anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, life transitions, and that general sense that something isn't right but you can't quite put your finger on it. Sessions are weekly, lasting 50 minutes.
