Counselling in New Malden
I'm Claire Smith, a BACP accredited psychodynamic therapist (216379) based in nearby Worcester Park. I see clients from New Malden and the surrounding area who are looking for a space to talk things through properly.
Getting here from New Malden
My practice is at Manor Drive Medical Centre in Worcester Park, KT4 7LG. From New Malden, it's a short journey. By car, you can head down the A2043 through Old Malden and be here in around ten minutes. By train, New Malden to Worcester Park is just one stop on the South Western Railway, taking about three minutes.
There's parking near the practice, and Worcester Park station is a two-minute walk from the door.
Why clients come from New Malden
New Malden has a strong sense of community, and many people who live there prefer to keep things like therapy slightly separate from their daily life. Coming to Worcester Park means a change of scenery without a long journey, and the practice at Manor Drive Medical Centre is quiet and unassuming.
Some of my clients from New Malden walk along the Beverly Brook path or drive down through Old Malden. Others come straight from the station between work commitments. The short distance makes it easy to fit sessions into your week without it feeling like an effort.
I also see clients from neighbouring areas including Raynes Park, Motspur Park, and Old Malden, so wherever you are locally, the practice is easy to reach.
How I can help
I work with adults who want to understand themselves better. Whether you're dealing with anxiety, low mood, relationship difficulties, or something that's harder to put a name to, psychodynamic therapy can help you make sense of what's going on beneath the surface.
Rather than focusing on quick fixes, we explore the patterns and experiences that shape how you feel and relate to others. Many people find that once they understand why they react the way they do, things start to shift naturally.
Sessions are weekly, lasting 50 minutes, at Manor Drive Medical Centre. I offer both short-term and open-ended therapy depending on what suits you.
